About the Site

Construction began in 2024, and our sales will launch in early 2025.

Land at Whitepost, Midsomer Norton was purchased from Waddeton Park Ltd in June 2023, and covers both BaNES/Mendip authority areas. The site will consist of 315 homes across two parcels of land, and delivers a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes.

The site is directly adjacent to our former Beecham Place development in Midsomer Norton. The site will be dual branded with David Wilson Homes South West.

DWH will construct the 45 homes on the parcel to the north. Both Barratt and DWH will jointly construct 270 homes on the parcel to the south.

Planning

Both parcels were purchased with the benefit of an Outline planning consent totaling of 315 homes.

A Reserved Matters planning application was submitted in September 2023 for 270 homes to Somerset Council (submitted planning layout and CGIs attached). Reserved Matters approval was granted on 24th January 2024.

An RM application for the parcel in BaNES was submitted by David Wilson Homes South West and was approved in March 2024

Construction

Construction commenced in August 2024. Further updates will appear in due course.
