About the site

Wichelstowe is partnered with Swindon Borough Council to form part of a brand new community, with over 4,000 new homes being built. There will also be employment, commercial and shopping areas, schools, public open space and a park & ride.

The development is broken up in to character areas, with the first phase at Canalside @Wichelstowe now complete. Canalside @ Wichelstowe is the most active area, centred around the Wilts and Berks Canal. The Waitrose, Deanery CE Academy and Hall & Woodhouse pub will form the vibrant heart of Wichelstowe.

Outline Permission under application S/13/1524 was granted by Swindon Borough Council on the 28th Feb 2014.

Phase 9 received a Reserved Matters planning consent for ‘Erection of 181no. dwellings and associated works’ on 22nd December 2022.

Public open spaces off Marden Way due to be completed within the next 6 weeks

Final surfacing works to both roads and footpaths on Wichelfields phase 5 due to be completed by end of July

ORCHARDS VIEW

Public open spaces opposite Golden Grove and Pippin Street are due to be completed within the next 2 months

Footpath/cycleway off Scott way due to be completed within the next 6 weeks

Final surfacing tarmac for Scott Way scheduled to be completed within the next 6 months

Barratt existing compound and site office due to relocate over to the new Phase Orchards 9 – scheduled to be completed by end of July

Final surfacing works postponed on Scott Way due to earth movements on new parcel. Final date to be confirmed

New roundabout at lower end of Scott Way has been constructed and base tarmac has been applied. Opening of road and roundabout to be confirmed

With the spring season upon us, we would like to share the enclosed link for useful tips and advise on caring for your garden and home during the warmer seasons.

• All work within our customers’ homes is now being completed as per our standard processes. Please continue to notify us should you become ill and wish to cancel your appointment. All appointments are booked through our office team, who will ensure all relevant information about the appointment  is captured and shared with you.
• Customer Care office hours are 09.00 to 17.00 and they can be contacted via email on bristol@newhomecare.co.uk . There is a current SLA of 3 days for a response.
• For emergencies during office hours, please email bristol@newhomecare.co.uk, clearly stating ‘EMERGENCY’ in the subject line or call the office number 01454 628000.
• For emergencies outside of normal office hours (between 5pm and 9am weekdays or during the weekend) please call 0345 601 6084. This line will not be operational during normal office hours.

• During periods of freezing temperatures, we recommend that customers isolate and drain any external taps to prevent issues caused by frozen pipework.
